XREA自体はBlogサービスを提供しているわけではありません。しかしPerl・Ruby・Python・C・PHP3/4といった開発言語をサポートし、DBもMySQL・PostgreSQLをサポートしています。そのため、Blogツールを自分でインストールして、XREAでBlogを運用することができます。
このXREAへNeclueusをインストールした時の手順をメモとして残しておきます。
まずXREAでMySQLを使用できるようにします。XREAの管理メニューから、MySQLの作成を選びます。
PhpMyAdmin自動インストールも選んでおくと、Necleusで使用しているDBの状態を見たり直接変更できるので、何かと便利です。（もちろんNucleusを使用するためにはDBを直接変更する必要はありませんので、無くても問題ありません）
次にNucleusをダウンロードします。今回では、http://japan.nucleuscms.org/からNucleus CMS v3.1日本語版をダウンロードしました。
そしてダウンロードしたアーカイブを展開し、それをXREAにftpでBlogで使用したいディレクトリにアップロードします。私の場合は、public_html直下でなくここにnucleusディレクトリを作成し、このnucleusディレクトリをBlogのルートディレクトリとしております。
Necleusのインストールは、ほとんどの作業がブラウザから簡単に出来ます。
先ほどアップロードしたBlogルートディレクトリ中のinstall.phpをブラウザからアクセスします。（例：http://tantris.s18.xrea.com/nucleus/install.php）
このインストール画面上で、Nucleusの設定を行います。この時、XREAでのMySQLに関する情報は
Hostname:localhost
Username:(XREAのアカウント名)
Password:(FTPパスワード)
Database:(XREAのアカウント名)
を指定します。
これが終了しますと「インストールはほぼ完了」というメッセージが現れて、自分用のconfig.phpの内容が表示されます。
ブラウザからの操作だけではインストール作業は完了しませんので、残りの作業はブラウザを使用しない操作となります。
先ほど、ブラウザに表示された自分用のconfig.phpの内容をコピーして、それをconfig.phpという名称のファイルを作成して、そこにペーストします。そのconfig.phpではPasswordが*でマスキングされていますので、そこを正しい値に修正したあと、Blogルートディレクトリにftpでアップロードします。
最後に、Blogルートディレクトリ中にありますインストール用ファイル（install.sqlとinstall.php）を削除してインストール作業は完了となります。
これでBlogルートへアクセス（例：http://tantris.s18.xrea.com/nucleus/)しますと、Nucleus画面が表示され、Nucleusを使用することが出来ます。
