KDDIは、ケイ・オプティコムがIP電話サービスの開始を発表した昨年の１月に相互接続の発表をしていたので、それから約1年半たってようやく実現されました。何でここまで時間がかかったんでしょうね。
これで無料通話可能なIP電話番号数は約200万個となり、ソフトバンクBB・NTTコムに次ぐ第3グループの中の一つになりました。つい１ヶ月ほど前までは全くどことも相互接続しておらず、通話可能なIP電話番号数がたった7万個と非常に寂しい思いをしていたのが嘘のようです。
